2018 NY Morgan

Tres Chic in her show ring debut as a 3 yr old hunter. Danielle Neidlinger, trainer, is riding our lovely mare by Futurity French Command out of TeAria. We look to her future as a western pleasure horse, but this was fine for her first experience taking the reserve in her class.

Celebration at Lingering Hills Stable

The nice folks at Lingering Hills Stable celebrated the end of the 2014 Show Season on November 1st with a picnic style lunch for all of us. We also picked up our loot from Wicked Cool's Res. Championship which was a beautiful World Champion cooler, an engraved plaque, a nice ribbon, and a garland of roses proclaiming Wicked Cool's Res World Championship. It was a fun day shared with our good friends.

Res World Champion!

Wicked Cool went to the 2014 Morgan Grand National Horse Show in Oklahoma City, OK to compete in the Four Year Old Pleasure Driving Division with his trainer,Scott Neidlinger. NY Morgan Horse Show

It was Friday night and our colt was in the NYSSA Sweepstakes class. In addition they also won the qualifier. Ricky and Scott Neidlinger were a Rock Star team! Many thanks to Scott and Danielle Neidlinger and the team from Lingering Hills Stable.

Rock N Roll Forever and Ava

It is fun to watch a Morgan you bred bring happiness to your granddaughter. This 20 year old gelding is doing just that as the pair are awarded a second place in an equitation horse show class. Rocky is a special Morgan horse and his rider is a delightful young girl!

And foal number three is a filly who is growing and growing into a fine young yearling. Stay tuned for pictures of Fancy Nancy later in the spring.

Merry Christmas!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas from all of us at Brookstone.

October 2013

A view of the fields of Brookstone where our stock grows and develops. It is a good place to raise these Morgan foals as they romp and play in their pasture. This fall the colors of autumn once again did not disappoint us on this early October morning.

UVM Christine and Ava Evans

I am so happy to share this photo. And many thanks to the Lingering Hills Stable especially Mari. I am a proud Grandma. This World titled mare is what the Morgan personally is as she carefully carries her young rider into the ring at NY Morgan, Syracuse, NY. Everyone needs to meet a Morgan!

Joe at Three Months

Our colt is growing up into a handsome youngster. This is Java Joe, offical name, on September 6,2013. He is a sweet and cooperative foal. We are happy to have him in our barn.

Looking For Fun

Here it is August already! The foals are growing and developing on the fields here at Brookstone. Despite the age difference, these two Morgan foals just get along so well. Of course their dams are not far away.

It is great fun to have them this year.

Summer Time

Horse care is an important responsiblity. It is one subject I keep learning even after over 35 years in the business!

But to raise healthy and happy Morgan horses one needs plenty of good hay! Thank you to the Hillis Family for once more supplying our mound with the best there is.

New Colt here at Brookstone

Pictured is a three day old colt representationg three generations of breeding here at the farm. He was born during the early hours of June 8th. His sire is Ancan True Colors and his dam is our good Immortal Command daughter, Shall We Dance, who is out of Boogaloo Dancer (Born To Boogie x Forevermore daughter). Courage To Lead

The beautiful Courage To Lead has been selected as an inagual inductee into the USEF/Equs Foundation Horse Stars Hall of Fame. Bev Lesher, owner of this super mare, shared the fabulous news with us on January 17, 2013. It is an elite group of Performance horses and we believe Katy to be the only Morgan in this first year of honor roll.

Congratulations to Suzy Stafford her CDE driver who captured the many medals with her and to our daughter Suzanne Stone Evans for having her and starting her through her junior horse years.

We are proud of our Katy!

Bellemares The Cannae Man

Gail Williamson sends news that her gelding, Bellmares The Cannae Man, competed in his first show in Sport Horse In Hand at Mass Morgan this past week. Gail was thrilled with his show ring performance and his handling of being at a horse show for several days. Gail calls her gelding, Ewan, and his dam is our beloved Hartland Sable now owned by Gail. Gail had wished to breed Sable after using her in Carriage Driving and she chose as the sire, Charlestown Bluemoon. This handsome gelding is the result. Gail looks forward to the opportunity to drive him in the future CD on the New England circuit.

Another Blue!

Super Shot and Molly Rickenback brought home two blues in the Junior Exhibitor Western Pleasure division and a third in a lovely Open Western Pleasure class at NY Central District Show. Way to go!

The Last Viking

Congratulations to Sherri Wilson, owner of Boogaloo Dancer, on the birth of Boo's first colt! The sire is the WC Legacy's Viking. The Last Viking is pictured here at 1 week old. Most handsome!

It is always a pleasure to have new owners share their news with us on Morgans that have come from Brookstone's breeding program.

Lead With Courage

Good friend, Bev Lesher, and owner of the CDE Champion, Courage To Lead, shared this yearling picture of Katy's daughter, Lead With Courage. Do you think there is much question as to whose daughter this young filly is? We sure do not. Breeding is so interesting!

Jane and Belle

Our good friend and owner of one of our lovely mares, Belle Essence is looking forward to the new Show Season. This team just gets better and better.

Shall We Dance

This lovely mare is a farm favorite. She was bred and born here on the farm, and has now been retired to our broodmare barn. Her dam is the beautiful Boogaloo Dancer x Born To Boggie and our of our Ironforege Evermore x Forevermore.

Shall We Dance's sire is the beautiful Immortal Command.

We look forward to breeding her this spring.

Jalopeno Peppers

Neighbors Suzanne and Ava along with the popular Rock N Roll Forever made a drive through the farm on this beautiful November Sunday afternoon. Goal was to place an order for some of Grandpa Stone's home grown Jalapeno peppers! He was most happy to share some of his recently harvested crop. It was fun to offer the curb side service.

October 2011

The mares are heading down for better grazing in the early fog of the morning a few days ago. It won't be long and the glorious color will have disappeared.

New York Morgan 2011

Granddaughter Ava and Rock N Roll Forever did their first Fitting and Showmanship Class in Syracuse at Region 2 Championships. Ava at age 7 and Rocky at age 17 were a delightful team. Grandma Horsey was very proud of these two.

Good Job!

Sherri Wilson owner of Boogaloo Dancer sent us word that the lovely Ms. Boo was named Res Grand Champion Mare at the Ontario Summer Classic horse show held in early July. Congratulations!

Sherri also shares that Boo is in foal to Legacy's Viking for a 2012 foal.

We are happy for Sherri and her mom, Deanna Wilson in meeting their goals with this Brookstone bred mare.

Lead With Courage

Bev Lesher sent this picture of Courage To Lead's brand new filly! Lead With Courage is pictured just minuets old with her dam, Katy. Her sire is Statesman Signature. She is a beautiful filly!

Stay tuned for more pictures of this lovely filly.

Rock N Roll Forever

Rocky has been a favorite gelding with us as he introduced us to the wonderfulness of the Forevermore offspring. That good Morgan breeding stallion has left his mark on our breed. We have had the pleasure of breeding Rocky who is now owned by Suzanne Stone Evans and we own an own daughter of Forevermore as well. Here you see Rocky on his 17th Birthday with his good friend at the NYMHS Central District Show. They had a blast! We had fun watching!

Rain Rain Go Away!

Rain and Lilacs seem to be the norm for the month of May here in our area. That is our yearling colt Wicked Cool peeking over the gate as I slosh through the puddles this rainy morning.

Kathy and Vince DeFazio~Breeders of the Year!

Recently in Boston at the 2011 American Morgan Horse association Convention good friends of ours received the distinguished award for Breeders Of the Year! The Scandia program has put wonderful useful Morgans into the Morgan breed for a very long time. We are most proud to call the DeFazio's our friends. Congratulations!

Super Issue

Some horses are just full of stories of their own. This mare has a story that is too long to tell today. Dot has been a living example of the fortitude of Morgan horses as they live through life threatening situations that leave them with physical scars. But you sure can not damage those wonderful Morgan personality traits! Dot is to be a grand mother this spring to two daughters we bred and now owned by Bob and Lori Sims. Maybe with a little luck Dot will be a new Mom again in 2012. Who knows? Life's journey for Dot has been full of surprises and interesting twists!

But she is a favorite of ours no matter what.

A Head Study

Here is a favorite mare, TeAria, and her son by MEM Chill Factor when we had the camera out for the colt's 3 month birthday.

Camp Pine Hollow

It was camp time in July at PIne Hollow Farm. I was invited to be a counselor for some of the neatest young ladies I have met in quite awhile. We had a terrific week!

Peaceful Summer

Three of the herd enjoying a summer evening.

Innocence of Spring

Who can resist a Morgan foal with their expressive eyes? I sure can not.

New Foal has arrived!

TeAria a favorite mare at Brookstone has delivered a handsome colt whose sire is MEM Chill Factor. We are very happy and most pleased with this youngster.

From Equestrian, March 2010 Issue

A wonderful suprise was in store for us as we opened the new issue of the USEF Equestrian magazine. We fully expected to read about the wonderful mare, Courage To Lead, that was honored as one of five horses in competition to receive Horse of the Year Award from the USEF. This we did, but not before enjoying the tribute from Katy's owner, Bev Lesher. Thank you Bev for acknowleging the breeder of this world class mare! The Dynamic Duo has brought pride to you and Morgan Horses everywhere!

Farm Days At The Mall

The Morgan Horse is on display and getting much praise this weekend at the Oak Dale Mall Farm Days in Johnson City, NY. Organizers tell us that more than 50,000 people attend this event. Each year I set up a display and invite local Morgan folks to bring in their business cards and sales list. We lay these out along side the terrific information from the AMHA. I use pictures from the AMHA calendar to show off the beauty and versility of our Morgans. The public seems to enjoy seeing all of this.

We are happy and pleased to announce the sale of Spring Bouquet to Laurie and Bob Sim of Heatherwald in Morrison, IL.

Keep Your Eye On This Picture

Exiciting things are about to be announced regarding the tremendous team of Courage To Lead, her owner Bev Lesher, and her Driver/trainer Suzy Stafford!

Check Back Soon!

If you are a USEF member, please consider voting for Courage To Lead. What a mare!

BKST Mares In The Autumn

As we changed the clocks and raked the last of the leaves I decided to spend the month of November putting up some favorite pictures from the Brookstone Album over the years. After all, November is Thanksgiving and all it brings including remembering ones family history. So please check back every few days to see what family history is up from our mare herd here at Brookstone.

Pictured is IronForge Evermore flanked to her left by her good friend, Super Issue, and looking on is a daughter of Eve, That Imagene.

Word has reached us that Courage To Lead was the Bronze Medalist in the single pony CDE World Championship in Greven Germany! Congratulations to Bev Lesher, owner, and Suzy Stafford driver of this wonderful mare.

It was a great day for the Morgan Horse!

Favorite Mares

August is traditionally picture taking time of our Brookstone Herd. Mares are favorites here, and we do have some we treasure very much. This is one of them-- TeAria a daughter of Up Hyre Te N Te and out of a Best Mare at Silver Maple Stable in Missouri, Catawissa Lady Star.

TeAria had a winning show career as a junior mare. She is most pleasant, intellgent, and oh so level headed. TeAria is an excellent athelete and she has an outstanding son by Illegal Motion who is three years old. He is in training at Pine Hollow Morgans with Suzanne Stone Evans.

We look forward to May 2010 and her second foal sired by MEM Chill Factor. I have a feeling TeAria will soon earn our title of one of our Best Mares.
